OMRAN Group Celebrates The 50th National Day

OMRAN Group, the executive arm of the Sultanate for tourism development, gathered virtually to celebrate the country’s 50th National Day. The ceremony hosted 600 members from OMRAN Group’s family and subsidiaries including Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre (OCEC), Oman Sail, Oman Tourism College and Waterfront and Marina Services (Marina Bandar Al Rowdha).
The ceremony also highlighted the group’s 15-year anniversary, which coincides with the country’s National Day celebrations. The commemoration of ‘OMRAN’s 15 Years of Growth’ signifies an important chapter of its development journey in the tourism sector over a decade and a half.
The ceremony began with the National Anthem, followed by messages from senior members of the group and subsidiaries, including Eng. Mohammed Al Busaidi, Chairman of OMRAN Group, Peter Walichnowski, Chief Executive Officer of OMRAN Group, Dr. Khamis Al Jabri, CEO of Oman Sail, Dr. Abdulkarim Al Mughairi, Dean of Oman Tourism College, Said Al Shanfari, CEO of OCEC, and Colin Ralph, Manager at Marina Bandar Al Rowdha.
Commenting on the celebrations, Eng. Mohammed Al Busaidi, Chairman of OMRAN Group said, “On behalf of all of OMRAN’s employees, I would like to congratulate His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik- May God bless him- and the people of Oman on this glorious occasion. This joyful occasion comes to renew our feelings of joy and loyalty to Oman”.
“Today, we have not only one, but two celebrations to commemorate, the glorious 50th National Day event, and OMRAN’s momentous 15-year anniversary. Guided by the solid foundations laid by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, may his soul rest in peace, and inspired by the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik- may God protect him- I would like to reaffirm that OMRAN Group will continue to positively impact the nation and support the growth of its economy, ultimately achieving the objectives of Vision 2040 and the National Tourism Strategy,” he added further.
Peter Walichnowsk, CEO of OMRAN Group said, “We are delighted to mark this great national day virtually in OMRAN Group. Witnessing the celebrations across the country serves as testament of gratitude and love the Omani people hold for the late Sultan, the builder of Oman’s modern renaissance and their aspiration for the new future under the leadership of Sultan Haitham bin Tarik – may God protect him”.
“I am also pleased to celebrate with you the 15th anniversary of the founding of OMRAN. On this occasion, I would like to express my appreciation for the generous and passionate talents of OMRAN Group who have contributed to the growth its portfolio which encompasses today unique projects and assets in various parts of the Sultanate.” he added further.
During the event, OMRAN’s new corporate film was unveiled which creatively features the legacy of the Group and its strategic role in the development of Oman’s tourism sector. In addition, a visual milestones timeline of the company was played documenting the journey of OMRAN from its inception till date, whilst also launching OMRAN’s new sonic signature and jingle music. The last highlight of the online event was the virtual raffle draw for 50 winners from the group who participated in a national day competition.
