OMRAN Group Celebrates Graduates of SHIFT and G!FT Leadership Programs, Empowering Oman’s Tourism Future

Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) marked a momentous occasion as 67 employees successfully graduated from its SHIFT and G!FT leadership programs, reaffirming its commitment to nurturing Omani talent and shaping the future of Oman’s tourism sector.

The ceremony was held under the patronage of Sheikh Nasser bin Sulaiman Al Harthy, Deputy President for Operations at Oman Investment Authority, and in the presence of Dr. Hashil bin Obaid Al Mahrouqi, CEO of OMRAN Group, along with a number of representatives from various entities operating in the sector, at the Jumeirah Muscat Bay Resort.

Both programs are part of the #IAmTourism strategy, OMRAN Group’s roadmap for developing human capital and enhancing capabilities. This aligns with the Group’s strategic goals of nurturing a skilled national workforce to drive sustainable growth in the sector.

The SHIFT programme focuses on enhancing the leadership competencies of the group’s employees through a specialised curriculum in collaboration with the ‘HR Competence’. 47 employees from OMRAN and its subsidiaries have successfully completed the program. Meanwhile, the “G!FT” program aims to empower female employees by offering diverse training programs across various management and leadership levels. The inaugural batch included 20 female employees.

Mr. Hilal Masoud Al Jadidi, Chief of People and Change at OMRAN Group, stressed the Group’s firm commitment to developing national competencies and empowering them to lead the tourism development process in the Sultanate of Oman. He added: “We congratulate all graduates on the occasion of completing this enriching training journey, and we commend their commitment and dedication throughout the programme period that extended for more than 7 months. We look forward to their effective contributions in moving the tourism sector to broader horizons.”

For his part, Eng. Hatem bin Ahmed Al Mahrouqi, a graduate of the SHIFT program, said: “I was glad to participate in the first batch of this enriching program, which played a significant role in refining my leadership skills through the combination of theoretical knowledge and practical applications it included in various leadership fields such as strategic planning and emotional intelligence. I rely heavily on this knowledge to open up broad professional horizons in the future.”

Eng. Shahad Yahya Al-Adawi, a graduate of the “G!FT” program, said: “Participating in this program was a valuable opportunity to acquire many important skills and tools for achieving personal and professional growth, as it included effective communication skills, stress management, and ways to achieve a healthy balance in the work environment, in addition to workshops related to creativity and team building.” She added: “I express my sincere gratitude to those in charge of such programs for their deep belief in the importance of investing in human resources development, and I thank my colleagues for their important cooperation throughout the program.”

A highlight of the evening was the announcement of the next edition of the SHIFT and G!FT programs, set to welcome a new batch, further reinforcing OMRAN Group’s dedication to the continuous development of future leaders in the tourism industry. This commitment underscores the Group’s vision for sustained growth and its role in ensuring Oman’s competitiveness in the tourism sector.

The ceremony concluded with presentations by the graduates, showcasing their final projects, followed by heartfelt recognition of standout groups and individual top performers. OMRAN Group’s celebration of this achievement not only marked the culmination of months of hard work but also set the stage for the continued cultivation of leaders who will play pivotal roles in the country’s economic diversification and tourism sector development.
