Omran’s senior management team comprises diverse and capable professionals with global and local expertise.
Mr. Walichnowski joined Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN) as its Chief Executive Officer in May 2017.
He has had over 35 years’ experience in international real estate development, investment and corporate management including the regions of Australia, Europe, North Asia and the Middle East.
Mr Walichnowski has spent 12 years living and working in the Middle East including 7 years as the CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Properties where he led the company’s strategy of developing major retail, hospitality and mixed-use projects across the MENA region. While CEO of Majid Al Futtaim Mr Walichnowski executed a Development Agreement with the Government of Oman for the Al Mouj Integrated Tourism Project, the first of its kind in Oman.
Previously to coming to the Middle East Mr Walichnowski spent 12 years in the UK where he was CEO of Lend Lease Europe and then the Executive Director responsible for Strategy and Business Development for Land Securities PLC which was the UK’s largest listed property group and a FTSE 50 company.
Mr Walichnowski graduated in Architecture in Australia and has completed post graduate programs at IMD in Switzerland and Harvard Business School in the USA.
Qais Al Hosni
Qais Al Hosni joined OMRAN in 2013 as Head of CEO Office with more than 20 years of experience in senior roles across Oman’s public and private sectors, Qais has recently held the position of VP- Corporate & Government Affairs to oversee a number of divisions which maintain OMRAN’s brand presence and reputation, as well as ensuring a robust protocol management and external communication with all relevant government authorities and stakeholders, including high dignitaries and senior executives in both government and private sector, and leads Omran’s Executive Office – planning, organizing, and executing important activity with the board and management on a daily basis.
During his 20-year professional journey, Al Hosni acquired an accumulative experience that covered multiple fields spanning Finance, Auditing, HR & Administration Management, Public Relations, Tendering & Contract Management. Some of the key positions he has held were; General Manager of Al Batinah Development Association (BDA) representing the mega industry at Sohar Industrial Port, and Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Awqaf & Religious Affairs.
Al Hosni Served the country through his dynamic role of being an elected Member of Majlis A’Shura (The Omani Parliament) in mid-90’s.
Bringing expertise gained in numerous industries to his role, Al Hosni’s multi-faceted career positions him as a natural candidate to assist with the highest levels of decision making in Omran’s bid to drive the investment, growth and development of the country’s rapidly growing tourism sector.
Al Hosni has an equally impressive academic background, with a degree in Liberal Studies from Seattle University, and diplomas in Arts & Sciences and general studies, after six years of study in Washington, USA.
Hussain Al Balushi
With a first-class Honours Master’s degree in Management Specialising in Organisation Development & Change from Victoria University – Australia, Hussain Al Bulushi has been progressing in his career since he started his professional life at Muscat Municipality.
Hussain is a dedicated and determined individual with track records of total career competence and great achievements. Extremely personable and versatile with the ability to work with people from any cultural and social background. He possesses the professionalism, breadth of vision and confidence to make independent decisions wherever necessary. Extremely organized, attentive to detail and able to priorities and lead multiple departments or projects with competing deadlines. He has affiliations with SHRM (USA), CIPD (UK), OSHRM (Oman) and other international societies and groups. Recently, he has successfully completed a Professional Leadership program at INSEAD Business School in Singapore.
With almost 24 years of combined professional experience, Hussain has developed a broad range of valuable skills and capabilities over the years. He started his career with Muscat Municipality (MM) where he worked his way up the ladder and became the Sr. Specialist of OD & Change of MM at a Director’s level. Besides his normal duties at MM, Hussain was also involved in the early days of setting up of the Wave Muscat, Waste Water Services Co. (now Haya Water), Solid Waste Management Co. (now Be’ah). He was also part of many committees within MM and externally within other Government entities.
He moved to OMRAN in February 2009 where he led the creation of the CEO’s follow-up office and the Admin Department. He moved up the ladder gradually with OMRAN to become the Sr. VP of Shared Services with various support services departments under his leadership. As part of his job, Hussain has interacted with OMRAN’s hotels and helped them on many fronts, and along the way he learned a great deal of knowledge and experience about the hotel industry in general and specifically the hotels business in Oman.
Hussain is also very passionate about developing young Omani talents as he strongly believes and says, “whomever has a sense of seriousness about his or her career must have strengths that we must nurture, tap into and develop; because the next generation of leaders must be prepared properly to take Oman into the next era”. Hussain is an excellent leader and even a better team player.
Abdullah Al Hosni
Abdullah has over 20 years of extensive and diverse experience in Finance and Audit. Prior to joining OMRAN, Abdullah worked in a number of organizations and hold a number of different senior positions in various fields such as ICT, Oil & Gas, and Government Audit. He started his leadership role back in 2006 when he became DG of Finance & Administration in the Information Technology Authority (ITA), then he moved as the GM of Financial Control with Omantel. His last job with Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (PEIE) was the Deputy CEO for Business Development and CFO. Abdullah was also a Board Director, and Chairman of the Audit & Tender Committees in a numer of S.A.O.C and L.L.C Companies.
Abdullah’s main role as CFO is to lead and direct the effective and efficient management of the finance function of the OMRAN Group of Companies including subsidiaries and affiliates (“OMRAN”), providing strategic direction, policies and guidelines, to facilitate the achievement of business objectives within the overall company’s mandate and business plan and to maximize shareholder value, by ensuring OMRAN’s financial performance and long term financial health, and availability and constant enhancement of financial systems in line with industry best practices.
Al Hosni holds a Bachelor degree in Accounting from Sultan Qaboos University and he is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
|Stuart Ingram is SVP Development and Project Management Division for the OMRAN Group of companies. At OMRAN Stuart serves on the Management Committee. Stuart has management responsibility over OMRAN’s development and project management functions. Since joining OMRAN in 2017, Stuart has served on the Board of several of OMRAN’s investment companies and Technical Steering Committees.|
Stuart is a Senior Property Development Executive with extensive development and project delivery experience in retail, hospitality, residential and leisure projects, working for both Developers and Consultants in the UK and the Middle East. Stuart has over 20 years Middle East experience, with the last 10 years working for Client organisations with direct P&L responsibility, and accountability to the Board / Shareholders to develop projects on time and within agreed budgets, and with a clear Asset Management strategy.
Stuart has developed exceptional project management skills through the successful delivery of several major projects. Core skills are possessed in the management and control of development feasibility, establishment of project vision, design, construction, cost and programmes of projects throughout the development process, as well as Asset Management Strategies (short and long term revenue generation). A key skill is in ability to create and lead highly motivated, delivery focused teams, from strategic recruitment and in house development, to milestone delivery and commercial awareness.
Prior to joining OMRAN, Stuart was Chief Operating Officer for Oman’s leading Mixed Use Development, Al Mouj LLC. He was in charge of all development and project management aspects of this mixed use project, with specific responsibility. Prior to that, Stuart worked for Mace International, one of the UK’s leading Project and Construction management companies, working on several high profile mega projects in the United Arab Emirates.
Stuart has a First Class Honours Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and is a Chartered Civil Engineer and Member of Institution of Civil Engineer
Said Al Qasmi
Eng. Said Al Qasmi joined OMRAN in June 2009 to oversee the development of Oman Convention & Exhibition Centre Project. Prior to joining OMRAN, Al Qasmi held various positions within the Muscat Municipality since joining there in 1986, and the last position he held was the Deputy Director General of Technical Affairs in addition to being responsible as Team Leader of many strategic projects including the Privatization of the Muscat Wastewater Project, Al Athaiba – Al Mawaleh Sea Front Development Project and the Muscat Solid Waste Management Scheme. Said also worked for Oman Liquefied Natural Gas Company (Oman LNG) for six years and Sama Dubai prior to joining OMRAN.
As a Senior VP of OCEC project, which is the largest development under development by OMRAN, Said oversees all aspects of the project’s development. He is responsible for the development, design and construction of this project. This will encompass all activities related to business and development planning, project planning, financial and commercial planning, engineering design and construction.
Said holds a BSc in Civil Engineering from USA and Master’s Degree in Business Administration.
Zoltan is an experienced real estate investment professional with over 20 years of industry exposure covering multiple managerial and leadership positions across geographies.
His primary expertise is in hotel investments and asset management, but Zoltan has been extensively involved in other real estate asset classes like office, residential and mixed-use developments.
He began his career in philanthropic organisations, then continued with KPMG, where he worked for a decade in the Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism team for the Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Prior to joining OMRAN, where he heads up the asset management and hospitality functions, Zoltan worked at the sovereign wealth fund of Oman (SGRF) where he was responsible for the direct hospitality portfolio and real estate funds.
Zoltan, an engineer by first training, studied social sciences and acquired an MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management, Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in Finance. He is a certified asset manager from Cornell University School of Hotel Administration.
Saif Al Hinai
Holder of a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree from the University of Oklahoma – USA in 1990, Saif bin Ali bin Nasser Al-Hinai has been a part of the Sultanate’s architecture and design industry for over 25 years.
He was the leading force behind the Muscat Municipality’s win of three significant awards in the fifth round of the Arab Cities Organization Award in 1994. Under his stewardship, Muscat Municipality achieved first prize for the Municipality’s head office building in the category of architecture, first prize for city beautification and the second prize in landscaping and public parks.
Having worked for over 14 years in various departments of the Central Design Cell at the Muscat Municipality – Diwan of Royal Court, he was appointed to the position of Director General of Landscaping & Public Parks and General Supervisor of Central Design Department in 2004. Following that, Saif bin Ali bin Nasser Al-Hinai took up the opportunity to be Vice President, Development at Al Madina A’Zarqa, Blue City Company between 2007 and 2010 where he supervised the development as well as acted as the liaison with consultants to the project, Ministries and Government Authorities, and other parties linked in the project’s execution.
In 2012, he joined Omran as Senior Vice President & Executive Director of the Al-Irfan Urban Development Project – a proposed Capital District for Muscat to the International Airport and enjoying strategic highway access to a location central to Muscat’s 40km coastal urban corridor. Al-Irfan is expected to redirect the capital’s CBD to a highly accessible, virgin site away from the existing congested centre in Ruwi, creating Muscat’s New Financial and Business District.
He’s currently holding the position of a Senior Vice President- Business Development whose key role is ensuring Corporate Business growth through identifying, researching, analysing, developing and strategizing Corporate Business requirements to develop and grow and then realizing its full potential.
Salah Al Ghazali
With a Master’s in Business Administration and over 16 years’ experience in Real Estate and Tourism, Salah Al Ghazali has a proven record of success in Investment, Strategy and Business Planning across various levels of management.
Salah’s current job profile as Vice President-Development Partnerships & Investor Relations at Oman Tourism Development Company SAOC (OMRAN), the executive arm of the government of Oman for the development of the tourism sector, provides him with wide exposure to the investments in various tourism and hospitality projects across Oman along with intelligence of major players in tourism , the prospective investment opportunities in this sector and high-level engagement with various stakeholders in the international hospitality business arena.
Before joining OMRAN, Al Ghazali was instrumental in successfully setting up, Majan Development Company SAOC (MDC) US$ 65 million, one of the first Islamic compliant Real Estate Companies in Oman -at a time when the Islamic compliant concept was not yet supported in the business domain. Working with MDC for 2 years allowed him to advance his expertise in Real Estate investments and deal with major international investors and players in the GCC market. His first major achievement as Business Development Manager at MDC was an investment transaction of US$15 million which yielded a 60% return.
Salah has built accumulative experience in investment after successful 8 years at The Public Authority for Investment Promotion & Export Development (Ithraa), which enabled him to create a strong professional network and cultivate excellent working relations with high ranking decision makers in the Government and other key companies in the private sector. The domain he focused primarily on was promoting FDI in the Real Estate & Tourism sector. During this stint, he led the investment strategy development team to identify opportunity sectors and potential projects in the Sultanate, in addition to successfully setting up partnerships between a number of international investors and local companies.
In addition to his active role at OMRAN, Salah is the acting Managing Director of Yiti Tourism Development Company SAOC, and Investment Manager in Iskan International Projects FZC a Ras Al Khaima based Real Estate Fund, both in which OMRAN has a stake. He also represents OMRAN as a Board Member & Audit Committee Member, in several Joint Ventures under OMRAN Group.
In 2016, Salah Graduated from the National CEO Program, an initiative being organised Under the patronage of the Diwan of Royal Court, aiming to develop the next generation of private sector Omani leaders and CEOs.
