H.E. Dr. Ali bin Masoud Al Sunaidy
Deputy Chairman of The Supreme Council for Planning, Minister of Commerce & Industry
H.E. Ali bin Masoud Al-Sunaidy is a PHD holder in Economics from University of Hull, UK. He is also have M.Sc. in Management from Bristol University, UK. He gained his Bachelor in Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Miami, Florida, USA in 1988. He has held a number of senior positions in the government sector during the last two decades including Undersecretary of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry during 1996-2004. After that he held the position of Minister of Sports Affairs and Chairman of Oman Olympics Committee from 2004 to 2012. Following the Royal Decree 11/2012 regarding restructures to the Council of Ministers, H.E. was appointed as the Minister of Commerce and Industry. Prior to his current position, H.E. worked in a number of other positions including, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Public Establishment for Industrial Estates, Chairman of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC), Chairman of the Board of Directors for Oman Cement Company SAOG, a member of the tender board, the Public Authority for Social Insurance, and founding member of the National Information Technology Committee. In addition to his current position, HE Dr. Al-Sunaidy, is also Chairman of Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran), Chairman of General Authority for SME and Chairman of the Raffd Foundation.
H.E. Darwish bin Ismail Al Balushi
Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs
His Excellency is the Minister Responsible for Financial Affairs and Deputy Chairman of Omran.He started his career in 1974, working in several positions in the Government sector. During 1995-2006, he worked as Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance. He then gained experience working as the Secretary General of the Ministry up to March 2011, before being appointed as the Minister responsible for Financial Affairs following the issuance of the Royal Decree 31/2011 regarding restructuring the Council of Ministers. In addition to his current position and responsibilities at the Ministry of Finance and on the board of Omran, H.E. holds a number of other positions including being the Chairman of Board of Directors of Oman Housing Bank and Oman Air.
H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi
Minister of Tourism
Born in the Wilayat of Al-Mudhaibi, H.E. Ahmed bin Nasser Al Mahrizi holds a BA degree in International Relations, from the esteemed Mohammed V University in Morocco, which was conferred upon him in 1988. He started his career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holding several positions until 2000, when he was assigned as Ambassador to the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria. Within a decade, His Excellency travelled the world as Ambassador of the Sultanate to a number of countries such as Ghana, Gabon, Burkina Faso, Niger, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia, France, as well as the Portuguese Republic. In 2012, he was appointed as the Minister of Tourism in accordance to the Royal Decree 11/2012. In addition to his responsibilities at the Ministry, he is also the Chairman of Salalah Port Service, Chairman of Salalah Free Zone Company, Board member in Oman Investment Fund (OIF), and Board member in Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).
H.E. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi
Minister of Housing
H.E. Sheikh Saif bin Mohammed Al Shabibi was born in Al-Mussanah. He graduated with BA of Arts in History and Public Administration and has been an active participant within the public sector. With more than four decades of experience, he worked in a number of positions ranging from General Manager to Undersecretary within the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Transport and Housing, Ministry of Housing, Electricity and Water. His Excellency holds the position of Minister of Housing since 2007, in accordance with the Royal Decree 94/2007.As part of his responsibilities, he also participates in the meetings of Council of Ministers, He is also a board member of Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).
H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi
Minister of Transport
H.E. Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Futaisi was born in Shinas and he is a holder of PHD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from University of California at Berkeley in 2000.A holder of a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from the Sultan Qaboos University (SQU) in 1994, he is also an alumnus of Cornell University, where he received a M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering in 1997. Throughout his career, he has received a number of accolades for his performance and business acumen. He worked as Assistant Professor at Sultan Qaboos University- College of Engineering, department of Civil and Architectural Engineering imparting his knowledge to the Omani youth. He then worked as an Associate Professor at the same department between 2010-2011. He was appointed as the Minister of Transport and Telecommunications in accordance with the Royal Decree 31/2011. Dr Al-Futaisi is a member of American Geospatial Union (AGU), and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He published a number of studies and research projects locally and internationally. In addition to his current position, HE Ahmed Al-Futaisi is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Information Technology, and the General Authority for Civil Aviation. He is also the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Oman Shipping Company, and a member of the Board of Directors of Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).
H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mahrouqi
Chairman of the Public Authority for Water
H.E. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Mahrouqi graduated from the Economics College of King Saud University. He holds MA in International Business Administration from University of Bristol, UK in 1998. HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mahrouqi is the Chairman of the Public Authority for Electricity and Water since 2007. Prior to his current position, His Excellencyheld a number of significant positions including CEO of Electricity Holding Company, and the CEO of Oman Water and Power Procurement Company. He also undertook a number of crucial responsibilities previously in the Ministry of National Economy. H.E. participated in a number of projects in Oman including restructuring, regulation and privatization of the electricity and the related water sector, privatization of the airports and regulation and privatization of Telecommunication sector. He has also represented the Government in a number of Companies’ councils. In addition to his position, he is the Chairman of Electricity Holding Company – a wholly state owned company which holds Government interests in nine subsidiaries in the private and public sectors. HE Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Mahrouqi is also a board member of Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran).
Eng. Nasser Mohammed Nasser Al Hajri
General Manager – Chief Operating Officer at National bank of Oman
Nasser possesses a diverse range of Leadership experiences of almost 3 decades. His experiences includes Strategic Management for projects, HR, legal affairs, Corporate Services, Business Planning, Operations Management, and Facility Management, Contracts, procurement and IT. Nasser has started his career in the Military Sector as a Biomedical Engineer then in 1994, he had worked in Oil & Gas Sector – Oman Refinery Company/ORPIC as a Planning Engineer. In year 2005, Nasser joined Sohar Industrial Port Company as a Technical Executive Manager. Since 2009, Nasser has been working in National bank of Oman and currently working as a General Manager – Chief Operating Officer looking after banking Operation Group, Legal Affairs, Collection & Remedial, Projects Management, Procurement & Contracts and Facility Management. Nasser is a member of the bank’s Executive Management Team; he chairs the Bank’s Tender Board Committee and the HR Executive Committee. He is also the Deputy Chairman of the Bank’s Operations Risk Committee, and a member of bank Management Risk Committee, Compliance Management Committee, Management of Business Technology Committee and Islamic Risk Committee. Nasser sits on the Board of Directors of several organizations including Public Authority for Mining and Fund for Development of Youth Projects (Sharakah). He was a Board member – Project Management Institute (PMI) – Arabian Gulf Chapter and President – Project Management Institute (PMI) – Sultanate of Oman. Nasser completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard University, and holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University Hull, UK and an Electrical and Biomedical Engineering Degree from University of Toledo – OHIO state – USA.
Fahad Bin Sultan Al Ismaili

Fahad has over 16 years of professional experience in the real estate and investment sector. Al Ismaili worked previously as Property Manager at the U.S Embassy in Muscat, and holds a bachelor’s degree with honors in business and economics.
In addition to his role as Board Member in Omran, Fahad Al-Ismaili is also a Board Member at the Oman Real Estate Association, and Imam Jabir Bin Zaid Waqf Foundation, and Nidaa Charity Team. In addition, he is an advisor to several public and private investment funds in the Sultanate and GCC.
