OMRAN Group Recognised Among Leading Social Responsibility Initiatives in Oman for ‘Gifted’ Programme

Recognition presented on the sidelines of the GCC ministerial meetings on civil service, labour and social/development affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain

Oman Tourism Development Company (OMRAN Group) has been recognised among leading social responsibility initiatives by private-sector institutions in the Sultanate of Oman for its ‘Gifted’ programme. The recognition was presented on the sidelines of the GCC ministerial meetings on civil service, labour and social/development affairs held in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

The recognition reflects the programme’s practical approach to combining professional development with hands-on workplace experience. Delivered through two editions, ‘Gifted’ aims to strengthen participants’ skills and readiness to enter the workforce, while opening up professional opportunities in the tourism and hospitality sector.

‘Gifted’ forms part of OMRAN Group’s social investment portfolio and reflects its commitment to linking the potential of the tourism sector with wider community needs. The programme provides persons with disabilities with opportunities for practical training and professional development, supporting their participation in the workplace and enabling them to build on their individual skills and capabilities.

Mohammed bin Hamad Al Rasbi, Social Investment Officer at OMRAN Group, said: “‘Gifted’ is a model of social investment that delivers tangible impact by providing persons with disabilities with opportunities for professional development and workplace experience within the tourism sector. Since its launch, the programme has focused on supporting participants in moving from training into practical experience, helping them develop their skills and prepare for professional opportunities.”

He added: “The programme’s two editions have highlighted the value of partnering with the Ministry of Social Development to develop initiatives that respond to community needs while making use of the opportunities available within the tourism sector. We look forward to further developing the programme and expanding its impact.”

Mariam bint Nasser Al Amri, Director of Professional Rehabilitation Programmes at the Ministry of Social Development, said: “The Ministry of Social Development is committed to developing an inclusive system that enables persons with disabilities to participate in the workforce and strengthen their independence. In partnership with OMRAN Group, the ‘Gifted’ programme provides a practical example of how this commitment can translate into training and workplace opportunities within the tourism sector, tailored to the capabilities and potential of its participants.”

She added: “Partnerships between the public and private sectors are a key pillar in creating more effective pathways to training and employment within inclusive workplaces. Such partnerships contribute to providing opportunities for national talent among persons with disabilities, while taking their professional needs into consideration.”

‘Gifted’ forms part of OMRAN Group’s broader efforts to strengthen the social impact of its business, alongside programmes focused on training and professional development, national talent development, youth empowerment, innovation and entrepreneurship, SME development and local value creation, in collaboration with its partners and relevant stakeholders.

The programme also highlights the role the tourism sector can play in supporting social development alongside its economic contribution, by expanding opportunities for participation in the workforce and enabling a diverse range of national talent and capabilities to contribute to the sector. This is aligned with Oman’s national priorities and the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.
